Bellevue Club is the premier athletic and social club on Seattle’s Eastside. Dedicated to the well‑being of its members, the property blends 250,000 square feet of world‑class fitness facilities and four dining spaces with unique recreational, social and business areas. The club also houses the Bellevue Club Hotel, a boutique 66‑room hotel, and a full‑service spa.
Role Overview This position is pivotal in coordinating custodial operations across the club and hotel. The Overnight Custodial Manager works closely with company leadership, manages custodial staff schedules and performance, and liaises with contracted janitorial, carpet and hardwood maintenance services. The role demands strong administrative, customer service and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and pay custodial employees, primarily overseeing overnight staff with support to day staff.
Communicate with other Department Managers and Directors regarding daily and scheduled cleaning of their areas.
Provide leadership and guidance to all employees through meetings, on‑the‑spot training and clear guidelines.
Schedule staff to perform all custodial functions seven days a week.
Supervise, train, evaluate staff, and provide coaching and corrective feedback in a timely manner.
Train employees in all essential and additional job duties.
Ensure custodial equipment is operational and perform minor repairs; major repairs are contracted.
Establish cleanliness standards and cleaning procedures for all custodial staff.
Ensure custodial chemicals and supplies are fully stocked.
Direct inspection of trash removal, dusting, spot cleaning, window washing, mopping, vacuuming, washing/scrubbing projects, and maintenance of courts and studios.
Perform floor and carpet maintenance, pressure washing and restocking of supplies as needed.
Oversee daily cleanliness of all aspects of the club.
Requirements
Previous experience managing janitorial, maintenance or custodial employees.
Knowledge of cleaning facilities, hotels or recreation facilities.
Knowledge of custodial chemicals.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to move quickly between tasks and prioritize based on immediate needs.
Bi‑lingual (Spanish/English/Farsi) preferred but not required.
Availability to attend meetings with both overnight and day shift employees and work weekends as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervise all custodial employees.
Plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems in accordance with club policies and applicable laws.
Provide initial and ongoing training on standard operating procedures, club navigation, cleaning duties, emergency preparedness, and customer service.
