Mission description Summary: The commodity manager is responsible to develop and execute the purchasing strategy for the assigned commodity, taking into consideration site and division objectives to ensure alignment with overall business goals. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Strategy Development and Implementation: Define and deploy the purchasing strategy. Implement a roadmap that aligns with corporate and division objectives across various business lines. Consolidate and analyze purchasing data. Monitor market segmentation and trends. Identify performance improvement drivers, such as operational efficiency and cost savings. Supplier Management: Based on operational performance and competitiveness, define the supplier target panel for the division. Manage sourcing for current or future business needs in collaboration with the NPI Commodity Manager Assess and mitigate risks related to the commodity Contract Negotiation: Negotiate long-term and global trade agreements in line with division expectations. Focus on cost savings, liability and accountability for performance. Optimize working capital through logistics solutions, safety stock, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), and more. Cost optimization & Value creation: Identify cost saving opportunities without compromising quality or supply chain stability Implement contract clauses that drive continuous improvement and innovation from suppliers Supplier Performance Monitoring: Consolidate and report on supplier performance for the commodities managed. Support cross-purchasing initiatives within SEP or Safran Group.
