Overview Senior Quality Manager- Electronics at Crane Aerospace & Electronics, located in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This role provides quality leadership for the Site Quality function within the Quality Management System (QMS), overseeing customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and product lifecycle from development and New Product Introduction to Production, Supply Chain, and Product Support.

Responsibilities

Directly lead and manage the functional quality organization on a day-to-day basis to meet all Aerospace AS9100 Quality Management System requirements.

Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) within Product Development/New Product Introduction by integrating organization, industry, and customer quality requirements into new design development projects using AS9145.

Manage the supply base quality performance over the lifecycle (supplier selection, qualification, management, monitoring, and measurement). Ensure purchased materials meet requirements and regulatory obligations.

Establish a zero-defect culture by deploying and continuously improving processes based on AS9145.

Ensure effectiveness of measurement and monitoring systems to achieve improvement in site business and quality metrics.

Develop and implement a quality organizational structure that supports strategic initiatives and integrates quality into short and long-term business plans, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and leadership of the quality function.

Lead root-cause analysis and problem-solving training to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.

Establish systems for collection and analysis of statistical data to predict trends affecting product quality.

Analyze and resolve customer complaints and field reliability issues; coordinate product and component failure analysis and drive corrective actions, inspections to J-STD-001 and IPC610, and supplier quality improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

5+ years of quality assurance experience in defense, space electronics, or high-end aerospace; automotive experience is a plus.

5+ years in a management role.

Experience with advanced product quality planning in high-reliability product development/new product introduction.

Experience with DCMA, DLA.

Experience with electronics manufacturing methods including IPC-610 Class 3 and IPC J-STD-001, MIL-PRF-38534 Hybrid Electronics.

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (EE preferred) from an accredited institution.

Eligibility: This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers may be contingent on obtaining authorization for access to such information from the U.S. Government. As a U.S. Department of Defense contractor, ITAR compliance applies. Applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Preferred Qualifications

Strongly preferred experience with APQP tools – Process Flow Diagram, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Process Capability, SPC.

Preferred AS9100 Auditor experience, Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ CQM/CQE.

Preferred experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Working Conditions

Applicants may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Standard office environment with typical manufacturing conditions.

Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail.

Manufacturing operations may require safety equipment (eye protection, PPE, etc.).

Travel up to 25% may be required. Physical demands: standing up to 20%, sitting up to 80%, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other routine office/technical tasks.
