Business Operations Analyst The Business Operations Analyst coordinates and oversees day-to-day programmatic activities, administrative functions, and events for the Center for Cognitive and Brain Sciences (CCBS). The role includes scheduling, procurement, logistics, project facilitation from inception through post‑implementation, strategic planning, budgeting support, and collaboration with other OSU groups. Additional responsibilities include planning and executing annual Center events, overseeing interdisciplinary funding competitions, coordinating ad‑hoc projects, supporting the executive committee hiring, supervising, and mentoring student employees, and managing Center communications and promotional materials.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee day‑to‑day programmatic activities, administrative functions, and events for CCBS.

Schedule, procure, and handle logistics for the Center’s regular programs.

Facilitate projects from inception through post‑implementation.

Provide strategic planning and budgeting support to expand the interdisciplinary cognitive science/neuroscience community.

Collaborate with other OSU groups to foster Center partnerships.

Plan and execute annual Center events (Member Retreat, Undergraduate Summer Institute, CCBS colloquium series, Humanities & Cognitive Sciences Institute, Undergraduate Poster Session, CogFest, and Public Events).

Oversee interdisciplinary funding competitions (Summer Graduate Research Awards, Faculty Seed Grants, Undergraduate student scholarships).

Coordinate additional projects and ad‑hoc funding requests.

Support the CCBS executive committee.

Hire, supervise, and mentor student employees (admin and program staff).

Manage Center communications (website, newsletter, social media) and produce promotional materials.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

Required: 2 years of relevant administrative experience, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Desired: Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal policies and procedures; experience in financial analysis.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $55,700 – $72,700.

Location: Psychology Building (0144), Ohio State University.

Position Type: Regular.

Scheduled Hours: 40 per week.

Shift: First Shift.
