Flight Coordinator I
Pay ranges from $20.50 - $22.50 based on experience!
$3/night shift differential $1/weekend shift differential
Job Description The Flight Coordinator is responsible for receiving emergent and non-emergent telephone requests for patient transport. The Flight Coordinator is responsible for the assignment of the most appropriate air unit to serve the customer’s request through the utilization of a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. The Flight Coordinator is the primary connection between the Flight Team and the resources they require to perform their transport. They serve as the central hub for cross-functional communications support between the Aviation, Maintenance, Operations, Clinical and Administrative departments. The Flight Coordinator will demonstrate proficiency with all the appropriate job‑related tools to include but not limited to the utilization of a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, mapping software, communications equipment, multi‑line telephone systems, and digital recording equipment.
Essential Functions / Duties
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills with all customers, co‑workers, management, and the public.
Receive and handle all customer requests for or about medical transports in a friendly, timely and professional manner.
Demonstrate excellent listening skills and be able to accurately document all interactions.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
Responsible for the assignment and coordination of medical transport by Air Evac.
Handle the decline and cancellations of transport requests with the requesting party by offering alternate solutions or aircraft as appropriate.
Maintain data entries in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system for all requests.
Actively monitor aircraft while in flight and enter aircraft position reports into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
Communicate with the Flight Coordinator Supervisor when issues arise.
Communicate with partners and Flight Team to facilitate transports as needed.
Participate and contribute willingly, effectively, and efficiently as a team member in various councils accomplishing the stated goals of the organization.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years of age.
High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent.
Detail oriented.
Ability to multi‑task.
Ability to function in a fast‑paced, at times high stress work environment.
Computer literate.
Flight Coordinator Job / Pay Steps
0–90 Days: Flight Coordinator Trainee – $19.50 per hour initial hire rate.
90+ Days: Flight Coordinator I – includes a $1.00 per hour increase upon successful completion of training and manager evaluation.
180–365+ Days: Flight Coordinator II – includes a $1.00 per hour increase upon satisfactory demonstration of advanced competency and independent function.
NOTE: Part‑time requires a minimum of 48 hours per pay period.
