What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Conduct comprehensive audits to ensure compliance with CPT and ICD-10-CM coding standards and regulations
Analyze and interpret audit data, preparing reports to communicate findings to relevant stakeholders
Identify and select audit samples using the Epic billing system and secure medical records for review
Report non-compliance issues to the Compliance Audit Manager and modify auditing tools as necessary
Stay updated on coding literature and regulatory changes to maintain compliance during audits
What is Required (Qualifications):
Associate degree or a combination of education and experience
No specific certification required for this position
No specific work experience required
Strong knowledge of healthcare coding and documentation standards
Ability to perform duties in alignment with the employer's core mission and guiding principles
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Certifications such as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Clinical experience and familiarity with CMS regulations
Strong communication skills and proficiency in computer applications
