Analyzer Engineer
We are seeking a highly specialized and experienced Analyzer Engineer to join the Instrumentation and Electrical team. This critical role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and reliability of process analyzers used for product quality control, process unit optimization, and environmental compliance across complex refining units, including Crude Distillation, Catalytic Reforming, Hydrocracking, and Blending. Key Responsibilities
Product Quality Analysis: Provide expert support for online analyzers critical to final product specifications, including those measuring Octane, Reid Vapor Pressure, Sulfur Content, and Viscosity in gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel streams. Process Unit Optimization: Design, maintain, and troubleshoot analyzers used for monitoring key reaction parameters in high-value units. Environmental Compliance: Oversee the operation and regulatory reporting compliance of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems for stack gases and water quality analyzers. Advanced Analyzer Systems: Specialize in maintaining and upgrading complex online analyzers unique to refining, such as Distillation Point Analyzers, X-Ray Fluorescence Sulfur Analyzers, and dedicated analysis. Project Execution: Lead analyzer scope definition, FAT/SAT, and commissioning for major refinery capital projects, ensuring seamless integration with existing control systems (DCS/PLC). Mentoring and Procedures: Develop detailed standard operating procedures ( SOPs ) and provide advanced training to refinery analyzer technicians, improving the overall capability of the maintenance team. Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Controls Engineering, or a closely related technical field. Experience: 5+ years of direct, hands‑on experience as an Analyzer Engineer working specifically in a Petroleum Refinery or a heavy petrochemical complex. Technical Skills:
Expertise in Product Quality Analyzers: Deep knowledge of the theory, operation, and calibration of physical property analyzers. Proven experience with the maintenance, calibration, and reporting requirements for Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems. Mastery of complex Process Gas Chromatographs used for detailed hydrocarbon analysis (e.g., PIONA, stream blending analysis). Familiarity with the rigorous safety protocols and isolation procedures necessary for working on refinery process lines.
