The
Lighting Quality Assurance Technician
is specifically assigned to lighting inventory, warehouse organization of lighting assets, and support to the operation for all lighting equipment prep and deployment. This position includes lighting equipment testing, cleaning, and programming as well. This requires an understanding of equipment functionalities, uses, and ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Warehouse organization and loading and unloading equipment as needed. This also requires use of a computer-based inventory program, Rental Works.
This position reports to and supports the Operations Manager.
Key Accountabilities
Reviews incoming lighting equipment by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and reviewing reported unacceptable equipment to determine next steps to return equipment to service; ensuring any equipment that cannot be resolved at their level is reported to the Lead Technician for further assessment and coordinates with data entered into RW database utilizing asset module notes in the specific barcode.
Preparing equipment by confirming specifications entered into RW database; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
Confirms products are in working order by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; completing testing to ensure equipment can be returned to service; verifying the equipment returned to service is fully functional.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions, reporting any malfunctions for repairs.
Ensures department tools and equipment for completion of all quality control are accounted for and organized.
Reviews RW database for upcoming order and transfer fulfilment needs to prioritize activities.
Collaborates daily within operations department to maintain inventory organization of all products and accessories to complete product packages.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Other tasks as assigned within specific department or from operations management.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with conventional, LED, and/or automated lighting fixtures is preferred
Basic understanding of power distribution preferable
Technical ability and interest also preferred
Education and Experience
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
Good written and oral communication skills
Planning, time management, collaboration, problem solving, and organization skills required
Strong interpersonal skills to work within a team
Willingness to work a demanding schedule that is dependent upon evolving client needs
Physical Requirements
The ability to lift and move heavy objects
The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Physical movements such as bending, crouching, kneeling, pulling, pushing, sitting, standing, and walking
