Job Description The Plant Manager is responsible for keeping production on schedule and ensuring raw materials are efficiently converted into chain link fencing, horse & field fence, and barbed wire. The role requires a hands‑on leader who works closely with production crews, solves problems quickly, and keeps operations running smoothly.
Principal Responsibilities
Supervise daily production to meet order schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements
Manage onsite functional teams (repairs and maintenance, tool and die, production, warehouse, quality, etc.)
Maintain high OEE and drive operational excellence
Coordinate cross‑training and knowledge sharing with the sister plant in Vietnam
Assist the VP/GM with special projects (e.g., M&A operation reviews, new production lines)
Ensure OTIF shipping and quality of incoming raw materials
Streamline purchasing to maintain a market‑competitive cost structure
Report production performance, continuous improvement activities, and capital expenditure plans
Manage and adjust the factory’s cost structure to stay within budget
People Management
Set daily production priorities and communicate clearly with crews
Train and coach operators on safety, quality, and performance expectations
Promote accountability, teamwork, and a safe work environment
Develop employees for succession through the Next Level program
Recruit and retain personnel for the facility
Ensure adherence to corporate policies and corrective action within guidelines
Quality & Cost Management
Track output, downtime, and scrap to improve efficiency
Monitor material usage and coordinate deliveries to prevent shortages
Drive cost savings via yield improvements and scrap reduction
Financial Responsibilities
Overall profit and loss management at the operating level
Assess financial impact of operational changes
Maintain accurate BOMs and forecast raw material needs
Order wire, steel, and coatings to sustain optimal inventory levels
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or sufficient experience
10 + years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Lean thinker with experience implementing Lean practices
Proven safety and 5S culture development
Strong leadership and accountability skills
Experience in leadership development and succession planning
Working knowledge of SAP (plus)
Experience in a TS 16949 facility

Additional Information The posted salary range for this position is $105,000 to $140,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications. This is a full‑time, direct‑hire position.
