Position Responsibilities

Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.

Identify all tools required for tasks.

Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.

Illustrate in‑depth knowledge of all pipe fitting processes.

Plan operations tactically for scheduling workloads in crews, efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.

Manage crew in regards to processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.

Required Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience working as an Industrial Pipefitter.

At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Proficient in managing crew, time, and costs.

Good leadership and communication skills.

Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience.

Ability to read construction drawings and technical manuals.

Knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components for new construction plants.

Strong organization and time‑management skills.

Problem‑solving abilities.

Manual dexterity and good aptitude.

Ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions.

Strong reading comprehension.

Team player and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Zachry ROF’ed or former Zachry employee.

Basic computer efficiency.

Formal or technical education.

Reports to This position will be responsible for a crew of up to 5–15 craft workers, including journeymen, helpers, and laborers.

Physical Requirements

Requires large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.

Must communicate verbally and be able to hear.

Must use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.

May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.

Work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding with appropriate fall protection.

Must work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.

Required to wear personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi‑vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel‑toed work boots.
