Job Title Permitting Coordinator
Location Onsite in Juno Beach, FL – 5 days a week
Pay Negotiable based on experience, up to $47/hr
Position Overview The Permit Coordinator is responsible for managing and facilitating the permitting process for the construction of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facilities. This role involves working directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to obtain all necessary permits for building and operating these facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and standardizing work practices to enhance efficiency and success across current and future projects.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage permit applications for BESS construction projects across multiple jurisdictions
Develop and maintain relationships with local AHJs to facilitate the permitting process
Track and report permit status, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams
Interpret and apply local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements
Prepare and review permit applications and supporting documentationIdentify potential permitting issues early and develop mitigation strategies
Maintain accurate records of permit applications, approvals, and related communications
Attend pre‑application meetings with regulatory agencies as needed
Keep project teams informed of permitting timelines and requirements
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in a corporate environment, preferably in permitting, regulatory compliance, or a related field
Experience with construction projects in renewable energy, electrical utilities, or major infrastructure preferred
Strong understanding of building codes and permitting processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Detail‑oriented with excellent documentation skills
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements
Working Conditions
Location: Office‑based role in Juno Beach, FL
Standard business hours: Monday through Friday
