NYC Department of Social Services The DSS Accountability Office (DSS-AO)-IREA is responsible for protecting the integrity of social services programs administered by the New York City Department of Social Services (DSS) and ensuring that DSS complies with all statutory, regulatory, and contractual standards. The Office of Revenue is a major component of IREA. It is responsible for the recovery of public assistance benefits paid to current and former participants. The divisions and programs within the Revenue Office seek recovery of outstanding debts owed by participants, New York City employees and from those who received settlements from personal injury lawsuits. The SNAP-CR is recruiting for a Principle Administrative Associate II to function as a SNAP-CR Area Supervisor, who will: Directly and indirectly supervise staff in Claims processing/establishment of claims/recovery of manual payments/Program support. Develop, complete, review and maintain statistical reports, charts and memos on program operations, productivity and production. Assign, evaluate, review and approve claims/establishment/recovery actions for accuracy referred to SNAP-CR from HRA programs throughout the agency in CA and SNAP only sites, Quality Control and internal audits prior to establishing in WMS. Monitor, approve and address any issues in staff’s time and leave. Conduct meetings and conferences with respect to Time and Leave procedures to ensure that compliance is met. Represent the Executive Director and/or Director in their absence at various meetings related to program operation or specifically to SNAP over payment related activity. Provide presentations/ demonstrations of the Automated Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Claims system (ASCS) and/or general program operations to both internal as well as external entities to the AO. Liaise with agency operations subsystems and support programs via email/ memoranda or telephone communication to indicate actions implemented on SNAP-CR and/or agency cases. Perform annual evaluation appraisals for staff under direct supervision. Conduct meetings with subordinates at various levels as needed to address program/unit operations. Contact and/or correspond with internal /external entities on any problems reported in the automated system or program operations to ensure resolution and/or expeditious results for SNAP-CR to adhere to State and Federal guidelines. Work location: 375 Pearl Street Hours/Schedule: Monday -Friday 9-5 (flex) Minimum Qualifications A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in above; A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in above; Education and/or experience equivalent to above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in above. This position is open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a program. New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
