Position Summary This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic patient flow and serving as the primary contact for patients. Key duties include scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before visits, receiving patients, maintaining records, processing charges, filing insurance claims, responding to information requests, and handling cash‑related responsibilities.

Major / Essential Functions

Patient check‑in and registration, including verifying demographics, insurance, and pharmacy information.

Collect patients’ copay and required paperwork (Privacy Practices, Consent to Treat, Authorization to Release information, etc.).

Answer and process all incoming clinic phone calls.

Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits; notify staff of responsibility due at the time of service.

Pick up and distribute money bags; reconcile cash drawer.

Scan medical records into EMR.

Maintain patient correspondence (faxes, mail, appointment changes, home health certifications).

Patient check‑out: answer questions, collect money, schedule follow‑up appointments.

Obtain pre‑authorizations, insurance referrals, and consultation records.

Keep front desk staff updated on all changes in insurance, processes, and policies.

Model professionalism and positive role for the front staff.

Ensure compliance with TTUHSC rules and department policies.

Required Qualifications A high school diploma or GED plus one year of customer service, office, or related experience. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement.
