About The Team The Commercial Operations team plays a pivotal role in supporting and driving both new and renewal sales efforts. This multi-faceted team encompasses a range of specialized functions including customer success, customer support help desk, contract and pricing operations, CRM management, and solutions consultants. The team collaborates closely with various internal departments to drive new business, secure renewals, optimize processes, identify opportunities for creating added value, and ensure seamless client experiences.
Position Summary The Deal Desk Manager at Policy Reporter plays a key role in supporting the company’s commercial operations by acting as a strategic and tactical partner to Sales, Finance, Legal and Product teams. This role is responsible for our contracting and standardized pricing processes. The Deal Desk serves as a central hub for contract and pricing accuracy, managing non-standard requests, providing guidance on contract terms, discounting, and approvals while ensuring a smooth and efficient process. By leveraging business acumen, cross‑functional collaboration and analytical skills, the Deal Desk Manager supports deals that benefit both Policy Reporter and the customer.
This is a remote position open to candidates based in the following U.S. states only: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Candidates must currently reside in one of these states and be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are currently registered to employ in the listed states and are unable to hire outside of them at this time.
Role & Responsibilities
Own the maintenance and updating of Policy Reporter’s contract templates and price lists
Represent Commercial Operations, Finance and Legal interests of Policy Reporter in the structuring of deals
Review and approve all client contracts to ensure both accuracy and adherence to Policy Reporter SOPs
Serve as an escalation point for contract and pricing reviews when needed to help move deals forward
Review and drive approvals of non‑standard business terms including both legal and finance compliance
Work cross‑functionally with Product, Commercial Operations, Sales, Finance and Legal to facilitate the deal process and recommend changes to contract templates and pricing policies in response to observed behaviors
Develop and distribute contracting and pricing best practices in collaboration with Sales through data‑driven analysis of win/loss results, pricing trends, etc.
Identify and make recommendations for process improvements; assist or drive implementation
Provide assistance on answering and/or reviewing RFPs and RFIs
On‑time adherence to training deadlines for all corporate policies and procedures governing access to confidential data
Ensure all SOPs are followed consistently
Conduct miscellaneous tasks or projects as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
10 years of experience in Deal Desk, sales operations, contracting and/or revenue cycle roles
Strong business acumen with a thorough understanding of the sales process
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is considered an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi‑task effectively
Self‑motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines
Intermediate skill level in Word and Excel
Experience with Salesforce is preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex engagements simultaneously
High emotional intelligence, adaptability and a passion for delivering customer value
