The Strategic Sourcing Category Lead - Electrical Components is responsible for managing the development and implementation of a strategic procurement strategy and for partnering with key stakeholders across the business. You will develop, communicate and implement comprehensive category strategies, ensuring that projects deliver on risk, quality, cost and other value drivers while working with cross‑functional teams. This position will develop and continually update market intelligence on key suppliers and market solutions.

Experience requirements:

Minimum 2 years in a strategic sourcing role.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong background in electrical construction, electrical assembly and/or electrical component sourcing.

Travel: 10‑30%, as required. Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday 7 AM – 5 PM. Location: Madison, WI. Salary: $76,000.00 – $141,100.00.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the expert for electrical categories, maintaining a complete understanding of industry, competition, future technologies and innovations.

Develop, issue, and manage RFP or bid processes to achieve savings based on targeted specifications.

Lead purchasing strategies for all business groups.

Negotiate corporate programs with strategic suppliers and develop new alliances to meet field needs.

Participate in cost reduction activities and monitor price increases.

Assess risk to suppliers and materials and recommend mitigation plans.

Qualify alternative supply sources on key products and services.

Support internal quarterly vendor reviews and external quarterly business reviews.

Serve as a change agent – identify new tools, strategies, and approaches to drive continuous transformation.

Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery and contract compliance.

Provide performance feedback to vendors and recommend improvement initiatives.

Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to categories (cost savings, raw material economics, quality, supplier rationalization).

Demonstrate exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Analyze key sourcing KPIs, spend data and vendor performance scores.

Resolve supplier issues and ensure quality of goods.

Facilitate involvement of supplier technical support resources for projects.

Identify opportunities for supplier-driven innovation.

Develop standardized specifications between suppliers and design teams.

Collaborate with internal resources to ensure effective sourcing activities.

Perform other related duties as required.
