Role
Supervisor for supplier quality. Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day activities of approximately 4 direct-reports to uphold compliance to standards and to ensure efficient and thorough execution of tasks. Confirm direct-reports outputs before submission to management. Provide technical guidance to direct-reports on Gemba investigations, auditing, core tools, root cause analysis, process and quality improvements, blueprint reading / GDandT, PPAP submissions, etc. Ensure that proper training material, training plans, and competency confirmation are in place for direct-reports. Provide on-going feedback to direct-reports on technical and professional subjects to promote continuous growth. Directly support supplier non-conformance activities as needed. Support direct-reports and suppliers in moving non-conformances forward to closure promptly. Assist direct-reports in communication with suppliers on issues related to quality as needed, including occasional travel to supplier locations. Estimated travel: 2 trips per month and 0-2 nights per trip. Ensure accurate cost assessment and processing of supplier chargebacks. Coordinate with other department in the planning and execution of supplier PPAP submissions. Conduct 2nd party audits of suppliers quality management system per IATF 16949 as directed by management. Conduct occasional 1st party audits of internal processes. Maintain a productive relationship with direct-reports and lead a positive work environment that promotes excellence, teamwork, and growth. Manage direct-reports timeclock, overtime, and vacation time. Comply with all IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems to ensure a quality product. Maintain a safe, clean working environment. Additional projects assigned by management. Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
4-year degree in industrial technology, metrology, or related field or equivalent work experience. 4 years of experience in automotive manufacturing industry or related field Six-sigma greenbelt Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Preferred Skills/Experience
