Overview

Position: Foreman in construction, maintenance and repair of electrical transmission systems. The role may require travel to another state depending on customer demands. Responsibilities

Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized systems. Supervises crew members and leads lower skilled employees in safe and productive work procedures. Leads and teaches hot stick work on energized lines. Conducts pre-job or tailgate briefings. Possesses working knowledge of all aspects of line work. Strings overhead wire, sets poles and anchors, and installs transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear. Troubleshoots problems and supervises troubleshooting in primary and secondary systems; replaces cutout fuses and clears faulted circuits and systems. Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order; capable of performing rigorous physical labor. Identifies primary and secondary voltage on a circuit, understands induced voltage, properly sag wires, and phases circuits through substations. Identifies and locates puller and tensioner setups; understands grounding procedures; able to work at heights and/or in confined spaces. Properly installs and removes PPE and cover up; safely operates equipment and conducts reconductoring and load bust procedures; requests and takes line clearances. Capable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order and uses phasing sticks to phase out a line. Understands line protection devices and flag and tag procedures. Ability to work outside, frequently in inclement weather. Performs other related work as required to complete the job. Minimum Requirements

5-10 years of experience Coordinates and inspects the work of crew members; travels long distances on short notice when required; works for extended periods in various locations. Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs; properly inspect rubber goods and PPE. Complies with company reporting procedures and completes required paperwork. Possesses a CDL and demonstrates safe driving. Willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules as required. Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Work Environment

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. They may be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions. Competencies
