Responsibilities
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, tools, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems using journeyman-level skills.
Visually inspects and tests machinery, tools and equipment to assure proper working condition.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss operation variations with appropriate personnel to diagnose problems or repair machines.
Dismantles defective machines, tools and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, transformers, wiring, and electrical/electronic components of machinery and equipment, as well as communications lines or equipment.
La ys out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, including facility plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, and related equipment.
Repairs and maintains the physical structure and appearance of the establishment, including cleaning, painting, repairing furniture or fixtures, and moving/installing furniture or fixtures.
Installs programs or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
Sets up and operates machine tools (lathe, grinder, drill, milling machine) to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other structures using wood, drywall, metal, glass or other construction materials.
Licensed and capable of operating a motor vehicle; skilled to drive and operate a forklift.
Works as an active team member to improve processes, productivity, and quality; communicates effectively; trains other employees as required; assists other personnel as needed.
Performs duties to prevent damage to facility, property, tools, equipment, or machines and maintains a high level of maintenance for the physical plant.
Maintains proper functioning of machines, tools, equipment, furnishings and the physical plant; communicates issues affecting production schedules or work environment to the appropriate personnel.
Adheres to safety rules related to machines, tools and equipment; maintains knowledge of safety requirements for the physical plant, including fire safety, hazardous material handling, and building codes.
Uses initiative to solve highly complex problems related to maintenance and repairs; adapts to variable situations with limited standardization.
Qualifications
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including units of measure, fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; able to perform routine duties requiring independent judgment.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands: Regular standing; manual dexterity; walking, reaching, bending; lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally; vision requirements including close, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Compensation In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $20.67 - $38.46.
Compensation can vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for incentives such as equity, commissions, or other bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during the interview process.
