Full-Time, Permanent Overview Our client, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction organization, is seeking a
Project Manager - Substation
to lead and motivate project teams in the management of safety, quality, scheduling, cost control, risk, supplier coordination, and client relations. This role oversees project execution from concept through completion across Design-Only, EPC, Construction Management, and Program Management projects.
The Project Manager will serve as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for multi-discipline engineering projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance objectives. Establish project teams, coordinate multidisciplinary activities, and manage efficient allocation of resources. Oversee all project communication, documentation, and reporting. Lead the preparation and administration of RFP packages, bid evaluations, and scope-of-work documents. Manage schedules, budgets, scope, and project cost controls to ensure timely delivery. Serve as the primary client interface, maintaining strong relationships and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee contract negotiation, approval, and administration for prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders. Conduct and lead project risk reviews, collaborating with internal risk management teams as required. Approve internal and client-facing financial reports, including forecasts, accruals, and project status updates. Manage project controls functions—cost reporting, scheduling, WBS setup, accounting system setup/closeout, and field progress tracking. Identify project challenges and proactively implement corrective actions to maintain performance targets. Lead contract closeout processes and ensure complete documentation turnover. Drive business development initiatives by leveraging existing relationships and identifying new client opportunities. Promote and enforce all company and site safety programs, policies, and compliance standards. Mentor and guide less experienced staff to support professional growth and consistent project execution. Participate in industry events and committees to represent the company's expertise and expand professional networks. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in
Engineering, Construction Management , or a related discipline from an accredited program. Minimum of
7 years of relevant project management experience
required. Experience managing EPC, substation, or large-scale infrastructure projects preferred. Strong understanding of contract management, cost control, scheduling, and project documentation. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software tools. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines. Prior experience with utility, energy, or transmission & distribution projects strongly preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
