Overview

Business Development Manager - Private Security Services. Location: Dallas/Fort Worth (field-based with local travel across Texas). This is a hunter-closer role focused on generating and closing security services contracts with a base salary up to $80,000 and performance-driven milestones. Compensation

Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr. Commission structure and bonuses are detailed in the Compensation section below. Key Responsibilities Generate leads through in-person visits, networking events, referrals, and industry platforms (cold calling optional).

Conduct 50+ in-person interactions weekly in the DFW area, wearing professional attire.

Complete 50+ additional touches weekly (calls, emails, follow-ups), logged in HubSpot.

Leverage 1,500+ existing leads in HubSpot and company tools (Dodge Construction Network, invite-only bid boards).

Collaborate with the inside sales rep on high-priority leads and maintain CRM hygiene.

Strategically plan daily sales routes to maximize time and reach decision-makers.

Deliver polished presentations and proposals; draft service agreements from templates before owner review.

Negotiate and close deals with accountability; no hand-offs without resolution.

Stay engaged post-sale for renewals, upsells, and client satisfaction.

Report directly to ownership with weekly check-ins you own entirely; owners will not lead the meeting.

Maintain strict confidentiality. Must sign and comply with Confidentiality, Non-Compete, and Non-Disclosure agreements.

Independently manage schedule; evenings/weekends often best for reaching decision-makers.

Qualifications 3+ years in business development or outside sales (security, facilities, or contract services preferred).

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Strong understanding of private security operations and limits of officer authority. Ability to handle top-of-funnel prospect questions independently.

Proficiency with Google Workspace and CRMs (HubSpot preferred).

Own professional attire (suit & tie or tactical admin).

Self-starter with high energy and accountability.

Preferred:

Prior security sales experience, existing relationships in property management/construction/healthcare, or related decision-maker networks. Performance Expectations – Trial by Fire

This is a temp-to-hire role with heavy scrutiny. The role requires delivering results quickly within milestones. Ophion will provide quality leads as a starting point; the manager is expected to research and prioritize opportunities within the first days of employment. Failure to meet milestones may result in early termination. At 90 days, performance will be reviewed on a strict pass/fail basis. Milestones

First 2 Weeks:

10 qualified prospect meetings set; 50+ qualified target companies entered in HubSpot.

First 30 Days (Pass/Fail):

20 qualified prospect meetings; 1 signed contract OR 2 signed proposals in late-stage negotiations.

First 60 Days (Pass/Fail):

2–3 signed contracts totaling $100,000+ annualized revenue; pipeline of $500,000+ in proposals or late-stage deals.

First 90 Days (Pass/Fail):

$250,000+ in signed contracts (annualized revenue); weekly activity: 50+ in-person interactions, 50+ additional touches, 5+ meetings, 2+ proposals.

This is a trial by fire role. If you do not produce signed contracts quickly, the trial period will end early.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Weekly activity: 50+ in-person interactions and 50+ additional touches logged in HubSpot.

Meetings: 5+ qualified prospect meetings weekly.

Proposals: 2+ qualified proposals weekly.

Closures: $250,000+ signed contracts within 90 days.

Reporting: Professional, data-driven weekly check-ins you lead.

Revenue impact: Generate new contracts delivering several times base compensation in the first year.

Compensation and Benefits Base Salary:

$65,000–$80,000 annually (upper range reserved for proven performers).

Commission (Year 1): 3% up to $250,000; 4% from $250,000–$500,000; 5% above $500,000.

Renewals: 1% residual on contracts beyond the first year.

Bonuses: $2,500 at $500,000 closed; $5,000 at $1,000,000 closed.

Commission eligibility begins after successful completion of the 90-day trial period.

Travel reimbursement: IRS mileage rate beyond a minimum threshold; travel-related expenses reimbursed with approval.
