Maintain all machinery, equipment, and facilities at the Rexnord Downers Grove location. Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), pipe fitting, welding, light machining, electrical/mechanical repairs, and installation, alignment, and assembly of new equipment; include facility repairs (lighting, plumbing, etc.). Work across departments (turning, grinding, heat treat, plating, assembly, and support equipment). Follow safety procedures and adhere to all documented part-processing procedures. Contribute to improvements in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and 5S in production areas. Modify controls and document print changes; diagnose, repair, disassemble, requisition parts, repair or replace components, adjust, clean, lubricate, and inspect repairs. Assemble, install, repair wiring and electrical/electronic components; install new equipment to power sources; align and balance after installation. Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and production machines; support manufacturing across departments. Weld as required by work orders or blueprints; maintain inventory for repair parts and engage suppliers for parts availability and cost. Record repairs (PMs and corrective actions) in the CMMS; develop PM work orders for all plant equipment. Train others on PMs, pipe fitting, welding, machining, electrical/mechanical work, installation, and plant repairs; ensure training respects site CMMS processes. Promote safety awareness; adhere to OSHA and regulatory requirements; comply with documented work procedures. Ensure timely workflow of orders and participate in cross-training to broaden skills. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required;Technical training in electronics or related fields or completion of a 4-year program. 10 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment repairing production machines. Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; able to use hand/power tools and testing equipment (e.g., VOM). Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals; perform scheduled and emergency repairs. Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC equipment (DMG Mori, Okuma, Okamoto) and working with 480V/120V/low voltage and PLCs. Team player; works with minimal supervision; safety-conscious; problem-solving using available resources. Willingness to attend training to repair newer machines and equipment; may include other duties as assigned. Rewards
