Role Overview
Legend Biotech is seeking a Buyer/Planner for its Technical Operations team in Raritan, NJ. The role supports end‑to‑end supply chain execution, procurement activities, and inventory management across the organization’s manufacturing sites. Key Responsibilities
Interpret and analyze demand and usage of critical supplies, clinical materials, components, and consumables. Develop and maintain relationships with key strategic suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership. Participate in regular Site Supply Chain / Planning meetings (e.g., S&OP and LRP) to evaluate manufacturing plans and ensure inventory coverage. Monitor supplier execution and deliverables of goods and services aligned with scope of work and purchase orders. Support the procurement process by maintaining accurate open purchase order listings, un‑invoiced receipt amounts, supplier documentation, and statements. Monitor product life cycles and alert appropriate team members to actionable inventory requirements and disruptions to supply. Maintain system planning parameters (lot size, lead‑time, safety stock) within the site ERP. Assist with investigations and root cause analyses on supply disruptions or material quality issues. Support Quality, Regulatory, and Financial audits. Respond to business unit representatives and supplier inquiries in a timely manner. Develop and implement standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials. Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or Business. At least 3 years of relevant supply‑chain and procurement experience, preferably in Pharma or Biologics manufacturing. Prior experience with SAP Advanced Supply Chain Planning highly preferred. Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, analytics), and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Effective communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Visio, and exposure to ERP/financial accounting systems. Ability to accommodate shift work, including evenings and weekends as required. Deliverables
Own inventory planning and coverage, ensuring accurate MRP-related tasks and transactions. Maintain data accuracy and support S/4 Planning and Inventory activities. Partner with Procurement to monitor pricing agreements and supplier performance. Execute supplier lifecycle management, maintain supplier records, and support sourcing initiatives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training materials for Sourcing & Procurement. Maintain SAP/HANA material, service, and supplier data with accurate maintenance timelines. Benefits
