Quality Control Manager

to oversee all aspects of fabrication quality, inspection, and compliance at a structural steel manufacturing facility. You’ll be part of the plant leadership team, ensuring all work meets customer, DOT, and industry standards while driving continuous improvement across quality processes.

Base Pay Range $115,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

What You’ll Do

Lead and manage all quality control activities for the facility.

Oversee and coach QC inspectors, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to quality standards.

Maintain compliance with AISC and DOT requirements, including preparation for audits and inspections.

Coordinate inspections, non‑destructive testing, and calibration programs.

Review project specifications, conduct pre‑fabrication meetings, and verify that welding procedures and qualifications align with contract requirements.

Monitor project quality milestones and maintain inspection records and reports.

Manage welder certifications, tool calibration, and internal NDT (MT/UT/VT) programs.

Inspect welds, coatings, and materials to confirm conformance to specifications.

Collaborate with production, engineering, and project management to resolve quality issues efficiently.

Support continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing principles.

What We’re Looking For

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or ASNT VT Level II – required.

5+ years leading a quality control program in a heavy manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.

Solid understanding of structural steel fabrication, coatings, and non‑destructive testing methods.

Proficiency in reading blueprints and shop drawings.

Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.

Experience managing teams and building relationships with engineers and inspectors.

Preferred : NACE or SSPC Level I (or ability to obtain within 6 months), UT/MT/VT Level II certifications, bridge fabrication experience, or a degree in Quality, Engineering, or Construction Management.
