Responsibilities
Schedule staff to work using approved staffing guidelines and patient acuity.
Replace staff who take benefit time (sick, absences, vacation, personal days) based on daily needs.
Maintain monthly staffing schedules for inpatient programs (Nursing, Social Work, ACS) using scheduling software.
Ensure daily staffing schedules are accurate, skill mix balanced, and coverage appropriate; discuss staffing with Nursing Supervisors and Unit Directors each day.
Develop vacation and holiday schedules for all staff on all shifts.
Maintain timekeeping system for Nursing Administration, Floats, Per Diem, and On-Call employees; make entries and edits as needed.
Maintain licensure records for RN, LPN, and Social Workers on inpatient units, ECT, and Blake, ensuring licenses are current.
Orient new nursing staff to payroll and staffing procedures.
Maintain records of certifications (CPR/AED/First Aid/ANA).
Assist nursing supervisors to ensure that all Float, Per Diem, and On Call staff attend mandatory in‑services.
Process requests for seminar attendance and maintain a log of seminars and costs.
Perform clerical duties as assigned.
Participate in performance improvement activities.
Schedule agency personnel as needed and process agency invoices.
Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Meet or exceed expectations for patient and staff interactions.
Maintain standards of confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office or Google Suite).
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred: Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
Preferred: Minimum 2 years staffing/scheduling experience in a healthcare setting.
