Social Worker Lead

for the Strong Ties Clinic. Location: 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, United States of America, 14642. Opening: Regular; Time Type: Full time; Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. Department: 500136 Psychiatry SMH Social Work. Work Shift: UR - Day (United States of America). Range: UR URCC 212. Compensation Range: $66,184.00 - $86,040.00.

Responsibilities

Functions as Team Leader and provides supervision and evaluation of an interdisciplinary group of staff including social workers, LMHC’s, LMFT’s, and LCAT’s.

Provides direct clinical services to assigned patients, which may involve individual, family, and/or group therapy, crisis intervention, and diagnostic evaluations. Documents interventions, both direct and indirect, in the patient’s medical record in compliance with the Division, Department, and Hospital policy.

Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team involving consultation, treatment planning, and periodic care review.

Collaborates with family, social supports, community agencies (past and present) to ensure appropriate and effective care. Coordinates referrals and facilitates linkage to other appropriate agencies/supports.

Develops and leads groups for patients (and possibly family members or their support network) which focuses on issues and needs of the severely and persistently mentally ill population.

Attends Division, Department, and Clinic level staff meetings. Ensures that Division, Department, and Clinic policies and procedures are implemented with regard to professional practice and patient care. Ensures timely completion of statistical reports/forms, time sheets, and other Hospital or Division mandatory in-service trainings and Health Assessments. Subscribes to maintaining a culturally competent environment by treating patient, families, trainees, and co-workers in a sensitive manner with appropriate attention to cultural differences. Participates in available cultural competency events and training appropriate to job duties.

Minimum Education & Experience

Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and 3 years of relevant experience required

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Knowledge of mental illness

Ability to engage in person centered treatment

Knowledge/skills in various therapeutic interventions including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing

Knowledge of risk evaluation and mitigation

Previous supervision experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications

Master's degree from an accredited school of social work. Licensure as a social worker, as defined by the State Board for Social Work, State Education Department, Division of Professional Licensing Services is required. If licensure has not been obtained upon employment, the individual has 18 months within which to obtain it, unless duties will be performed under OMH then minimum of a limited permit (not to exceed 1 year) or NYS Licensure will be required upon employment start.
