Overview
Telemetry Monitor Tech/Unit Secretary - Full Time Days at AMG Specialty Hospital - Oklahoma City. Responsibilities
Interpret cardiac rhythm strips every 4 hours including rate, rhythm, PR interval, QRS, QT; report changes in patient rhythm to the Primary Care Nurse; post copies of rhythm changes in the patient record; document arrhythmias or changes in cardiac rhythm on the report sheet; provide a complete/accurate report to the oncoming technician. Properly operates monitor system and speaker/phone systems; run a rhythm strip continuously during a code blue; complete emergency calls for staff; track monitored patients at all times; keep patient charts prepped with labeled rhythm strips; maintain nutritional supplies; count prior to ordering and maintain pre-set par levels; keep patient label book up to date; place completed rhythm sheets in patient charts. Provide indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting; meet the communication needs of patients, families, departmental staff, and medical staff; prepare and compile records in the Medical Surgical Unit; initiate directions from physicians and nursing staff; participate in performance improvement activities; maintain regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures, and standards; perform other duties as needed or directed by supervisor. Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent (GED). Current BLS certification. Successful completion of Basic EKG Monitoring Course. Previous experience in rhythm interpretation; previous experience as a Telemetry Technician preferred. Knowledge of monitoring equipment. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages desirable. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of medical terminology. Shift, Benefits & Work Environment
