$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of the Administrator, the Assistant Administrator is delegated with responsibility and authority for the internal operations of the facility in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, facility policies, and as may be directed by Alden Management Services. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility in its programs and activities. Assure that all procedures are followed in accordance with established policies. Directly supervise employees and instruct staff providing in-services training to promote job knowledge. Identify problems, develop, and implement solutions with the assistance of Alden Management Services. Assure that quality care is being rendered. Assist in the admission process by providing necessary information and completing required paperwork. Represent the facility to clients, hospitals, and community agencies, establishing a good rapport with transferring institutions. Provide direction for the entire facility in the absence of the Administrator. Review the facility policy and procedure manual, job descriptions, cleaning schedules, and other materials at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator. Ensure personnel follow established departmental policies and procedures, including dress code. Attend and participate in resident care plan conferences when indicated. Investigate concerns raised by residents or families and communicate status to the complainant. Meet with personnel regularly to identify and correct problem areas and improve services. Schedule department work hours, personnel, and assignments to expedite work; counsel/discipline personnel as necessary; complete performance evaluations timely. Create and maintain a warm, positive, and calm environment throughout the facility; participate in in-service education programs. Assist in orientation for new employees and participate in continuing education programs. Recommend changes to improve resident care, stay within budget, or both; suggest improvements to facility physical plant and equipment. Handle employee grievances and report to the Administrator. Supervise building and grounds cleaning and maintenance to ensure a clean, odor-free, and attractive facility. Conduct periodic rounds to ensure operation aligns with policies, procedures, and regulations. Educate staff on customer service and promote good public relations within the community. Attend department head meetings, infection control meetings, and quality assurance meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school education or equivalent; college education or licensed nurse qualifications preferred. Knowledge of long-term care preferred. Must read, write, and speak English effectively; able to communicate with residents, families, personnel, and the public. Ability to work with residents, families, personnel, support agencies, and the general public in a tactful manner. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Patience, enthusiasm, and a cheerful disposition; leadership and supervisory ability; ability to work harmoniously with all personnel. Physical Requirements
Move intermittently throughout the workday; cope with mental and emotional stress. Sight/hearing or use of prosthetics adequate to perform the job; flexibility and personal integrity; ability to work with residents, visitors, and staff. Good general health and emotional stability; ability to relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile individuals. May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies; exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions. Essential Functions
