The Bureau of Child Care ensures that child care services in New York City operate in compliance with the New York City Health Code and New York State Social Service regulations and are licensed or permitted as required by law. The Bureau seeks to hire a College Aide (student intern) to support its administrative operations.
Responsibilities
Provide customer service support to current child care providers, applicants and the general public. Assist with intake of child care license applications and receipt of updates from providers. Conduct data entry and data retrieval to support administrative operations. Perform filing, scan documents into electronic case files and support records management systems. Retrieve, sort, and distribute mail, and prepare correspondence. Assist in the preparation of reports and other ad-hoc requests. Perform other related duties as assigned. Preferred Skills

For Assignment Level I: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school. For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or a closely related field, including 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to IT projects, including 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level are made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. Special Note:
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes are in session. Students may be employed full-time during vacation periods. Residency & Diversity
