As a Paralegal at Tyson & Mendes, you’ll be a key player in supporting attorneys through every phase of litigation. You will assist with case management, draft and proofread legal documents, organize, review, and manage large volumes of records related to litigation, and assist with preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials. You’ll leverage legal technology and case management tools to stay organized and streamline workflows in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We’re looking for a highly motivated paralegal with at least three years of experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, or personal injury matters. You should be skilled in processing records and trial preparation, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a collaborative mindset are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems. What You’ll Do
Managing complex, multi-party case files and discovery processes. Organize, review, and manage large volumes of records
related to litigation, including
medical, employment, financial, and insurance records . Coordinate requests and retrieval of records
from healthcare providers, government agencies, and other sources. Work closely with attorneys, clients, and third parties
to ensure timely and efficient record processing. Maintain detailed records databases
and file organization. Prepare exhibits, trial binders, and witness files
for depositions, hearings, and trials. Utilize
case management software and legal technology
to streamline workflows and enhance document organization. Responsibilities
Ability to assist attorneys with retrieving necessary records Independently obtain authorizations and requests, follow up on, and organize records (medical, billing, etc.) Ability to manage trial preparation including trial exhibits, charts, trial notebooks, and subpoenas Enter your billable time on a contemporaneous basis Work as part of a team with all levels of experience Requirements
Paralegal certification (preferred) Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal Ability to work in the New York office at least 3 days per week Experience with litigation in the state of New York (Connecticut experience is also highly preferred) Solid understanding of civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules) High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision Articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Professional appearance and demeanor Equal Employment Opportunity
