As the Technical Media Producer (TMP), you will be a technical lead for production during live or taped studio broadcast productions and are responsible for setup and operation of the production switcher and related equipment in the Production Control Room and/or live location environments. You will evaluate and assign video inputs, manage timing and video levels, and orchestrate the control room setup. The TMP will work as the right hand of the News Producer to develop and execute the creative and technical “look” of the production by creating special effects via the production switcher and effects equipment. Responsibilities

Set up and operate production switchers and all associated technical equipment in a Production Control Room and/or Live Location environment during live, game, and/or studio broadcasts. Orchestrate control room setup while evaluating and assigning all video inputs, considering timing and video levels. Collaborate with the Producer to execute the technical and artistic vision for each live newscast and/or studio production. Lead the technical portion of the production team during setup and coordinate the movement of equipment and show elements through the production switcher. Collaborate with traffic and HUB entities to verify that all video and audio signals are routed correctly to their final destinations. During live or studio broadcasts, recall video sources, transitions, and effects, and route studio monitors as instructed by Producers. Continuously monitor all sources used during production to ensure video levels are correct and timing is maintained, including external feeds. Handle the pressures of live programming and time constraints. Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with Technical Operations and Production Engineering to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems for Live Locations, PCRs, and Studio productions, ensuring issues are resolved to completion. Collaborate with Production Engineering, Technical Operations, and Production Management to identify and special-order any equipment needed for live or taped studio broadcasts. Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of broadcast experience operating as a TMP, live remote, and/or live studio productions with hands-on experience in control rooms (switching, audio, graphics, CG, robotics, and rundown software). Knowledge of current industry standards and video signal flow, video router operations, and IP router operations with software used to edit panels. Ability to operate various models of video switchers, digital effects devices, and other related equipment. Experience using ENPS or similar news production systems and Ross Overdrive automation. Knowledge of FCC regulations and current broadcast technologies relevant to the role. Ability to take ownership and accountability for assigned projects. Experience using Edius and Adobe Creative Suite editing software preferred. Computer skills, including MS Office; flexible, non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.
