Ames Community School District The Ames High School is seeking Event Staff for the 2025-26 school year. Event staff members support school-sponsored activities such as athletic contests, performances, and special events. Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Ticket Sales & Entry
Operates ticket booth, sells and collects tickets, and reconciles sales at the end of the event. Greets attendees in a professional, welcoming manner. Monitors entrances to ensure only authorized guests enter.
Event Announcing
Provides clear, engaging, and accurate public address announcements. Shares event information, schedules, and important updates in a professional tone. Follows the provided scripts and adheres to district guidelines for announcements.
Concession Stand Operations
Prepares, serves, and sells food and beverages in accordance with health and safety regulations. Operates the cash register and handles transactions accurately. Maintains a clean, organized, and stocked concession area.
General Event Support
Assists in setting up and closing down event spaces. Maintains crowd control and helps ensure a safe, positive environment. Communicates effectively with coaches, officials, administrators, and other staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and variable hours as scheduled. Previous experience in customer service, food service, or event operations preferred but not required. The successful candidate will exhibit
Experience handling money preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Compensation
