Mass Tort Paralegal This position is open in a virtual office, The Link, or any of our locations. The preferred location is the Pacific Northwest, but experience can make remote work possible. The Mass Tort Paralegal will assist attorneys with fact investigation, legal research, document preparation and production, database management, docketing/case management, and overall client service. The role will focus on asbestos practice in the Pacific Northwest with functions including discovery, deposition preparation, investigation, trial and mediation preparation, analysis of factual information, and assistance in the preparation of pleadings, motions and briefs.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain professional demeanor and attitude.
Comply with firm policies.
Sustain attention to detail and quality of work.
Learn and develop technical proficiency in database use and management; internet/electronic research; and project folder/electronic file maintenance.
Independently organize and manage files or delegate similar tasks to Paralegal Assistants or Information Governance and supervise the same.
Attend and participate in in‑house CLEs.
Mentor Paralegal Assistants.
Anticipate attorney needs.
Independently handle all key duties without supervision of another Paralegal or Senior Paralegal.
Meet billable hour requirement of 1500 hours per year.

Position‑Specific Requirements
Pacific Northwest asbestos / toxic tort litigation experience mandatory.
Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s degree in a law‑related field or Associate’s degree and paralegal training.
Familiarity with e‑filing protocols and online docket research in Pacific Northwest state and federal courts.
Location in the Pacific Northwest area is preferred but not required for candidates with asbestos litigation experience.
Compensation & Benefits Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. Expected compensation ranges below are illustrative:
California: $84,000 - $112,000
Colorado: $67,000 - $92,000
Illinois: $72,000 - $98,000
Maryland: $70,000 - $98,000
Massachusetts: $76,000 - $90,000
Minnesota: $89,000 - $100,000
New Jersey: $85,000 - $116,000
New York: $79,000 - $116,000
Washington: $78,000 - $106,000
Washington, DC: $85,000 - $115,000
