Job Summary Serve as a command-level officer with responsibility for directing and managing law enforcement operations for an assigned division, shift, or specialized unit of the university's police/public safety department. Provide leadership in patrol, investigations, emergency response, and community policing to ensure a safe and secure campus environment. Act as the commanding officer in the absence of higher-level leadership. Responsibilities

Command and Supervision - 30%: Direct daily operations of assigned division or shift, including patrol, investigations, traffic, and special operations. Supervise and evaluate lieutenants, sergeants, corporals, and officers. Provide direction during critical incidents and ensure proper adherence to departmental policies. Operational Oversight - 20%: Develop, implement, and monitor patrol and investigative strategies to deter crime and enhance campus safety. Oversee scheduling, resource allocation, and deployment of personnel and equipment. Incident Response and Investigations - 15%: Command responses to major crimes, emergencies, and critical incidents. Coordinate with external law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical agencies. Ensure investigations are conducted thoroughly and in compliance with legal standards. Training and Professional Standards - 15%: Ensure personnel maintain certifications, training, and readiness. Promote adherence to professional standards, Clery Act reporting requirements, and accreditation guidelines. Conduct inspections, audits, and evaluations of staff and operations. Community Relations - 10%: Foster strong partnerships with students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders. Represent the department in meetings, events, and outreach initiatives. Serve as a liaison to other law enforcement agencies. Administrative and Reporting - 10%: Prepare and review reports, including crime analyses, operational summaries, and compliance documentation. Provide recommendations to command staff regarding policy development, staffing, and budget needs. Required Qualifications

Required Experience Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience. Certification by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Council. Proposed Salary Commensurate with experience.
