Caseworker A or B - Permanency/Intake at Garfield County Govt., CO
Overview Provide a variety of routine and complex professional social work duties around child abuse and neglect, and youth in conflict.
Essential Job Functions
Work with families in court‑involved cases and non‑court involved cases.
Perform on‑going needs assessment with families, children, and/or youth.
Establish goals and develop and implement a written plan for services with objectives, action steps, measurable outcomes.
Collaborate with family and professionals involved in the case.
Coordinate with assessment caseworker during transition to a longer‑term case.
Provide detailed, accurate, and timely documentation in the statewide client information system (TRAILS).
Monitor progress according to plan objectives.
Develop and implement safety planning and interventions as needed.
Ensure referrals to services are made.
Attend and participate in court hearings as needed.
Follow applicable state rules, regulations, county, and department policies and procedures.
Participate in professional meetings and Family Engagement Meetings.
Transport clients as necessary.
Respond to after‑hours crisis calls, including on‑call scheduling rotation.
Determine interventions that assure safety in the home.
Coordinate with supervisors on critical decisions.
Perform on‑call duties.

Assess allegations of child abuse & neglect and conduct assessments in the youth‑in‑conflict program area.
Conduct global needs assessment with families, children, and youth to assure safety.
Connect families and youth to services to mitigate risk and promote well‑being.
Establish goals and develop and implement a written plan with measurable outcomes.
Collaborate with professionals involved in the case.
Coordinate with permanency caseworker during transition to longer‑term case.
Document accurately and timely in TRAILS.
Monitor progress, attend court hearings, and follow policies.
Engage in Family Engagement Meetings and professional meetings.
Transport clients as required.
Respond to crisis calls and on‑call duties.
Determine interventions to assure safety and coordinate with supervisors.
