Overview

Employment Specialist II will assist individuals enrolled in Project Search, Student Internship Experiences, Community Habilitation, Community Prevocational Services and Supported Employment to prepare for paid employment or unpaid meaningful community activities, including volunteering. The Employment Specialist II also provides services under the ACCES-VR Contract, including conducting Vocational Assessments and Benefits Advisement. Reports to the Associate Director of Vocational Services. Responsibilities

Regulatory and Corporate Compliance: ensure compliance with regulations, agency policies and procedures; ensure documentation is complete, accurate and legible; follow incident management process; contribute to policy/procedure revisions; follow chain of command; uphold ethics and confidentiality. Financial Management: assist with annual budget adherence; manage individuals’ funds according to procedure; complete personal allowance documentation and related financial paperwork. Person Centered Services: provide services per Life Plan (IPOP, Community Habil Plan, Community Prevoc Plan, Supported Employment Plan, Behavior Support Plans, Day Habilitation Plan, etc.); implement activities per Staff Action Plan and Life Plan; follow ACCES-VR authorization/referral documentation and school district plans; follow Office of Mental Health employment plans; follow IPS model; plan and coordinate daily activities; advocate for individuals; complete assessments and baseline data; support community integration and privacy; collaborate with others to ensure health and well-being; follow medical procedures and report medical concerns. Program Standard: maintain program environment for development; complete daily responsibilities, documentation, and reports; identify new service opportunities; complete monthly summaries; work independently and problem-solve; teach job tasks and adapt instruction; support preparation for competitive employment; develop soft skills; manage multiple programs and funding sources; use natural supports; complete required trainings and certifications; provide case management assistance including crisis management, housing, benefits, and referrals. Physical Plant and Safety: ensure safe, clean environment; know and follow fire evacuation plan; practice infection control; maintain site vehicles as applicable. Contacts with Others: develop positive internal and external relationships; communicate professionally and protect privacy; address customer concerns; work autonomously. Additional Functions: participate in agency committees and trainings; provide coverage as needed; maintain certifications; may use private vehicle for transport; flexible with locations and hours. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: demonstrate conscientiousness, self-discipline, reliability; work with general supervision or independently; prioritize multiple assignments; establish effective relationships and teamwork; handle confidential information; basic Microsoft Office and introductory computer skills; strong written and verbal communication; operate office/medical equipment; ability to drive wheelchair-accessible vehicles if applicable; ability to work various hours, including overtime, nights, weekends; on-call as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in related field and two years of vocational counseling experience or equivalent combination; prior experience with developmental disabilities preferred; knowledge of local job market; CPR/First Aid/AED, SCIP certification within six months; ongoing training requirements; licensure/consortium training as specified; additional certifications and assessments may be required. Additional Qualifications/Requirements

Where position requires driving: valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Where position serves individuals: vehicle with current inspection, registration and insurance; enrollment in LENS when required. Authority and Accountability

This position has no direct supervisory authority. It operates under the supervision of the Associate Director of Vocational Services and must adhere to expense guidelines and program policies. Management may reassign duties as needed.
