Wellspring Church Webb City, MO http://www.visitwellspring.com Student Pastor Job Description Purpose: The Student Pastor is responsible for leading, equipping, and discipling students (typically grades 7–12) to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. This role includes providing vision, leadership, and oversight for all student ministries while partnering with parents, volunteers, and the church body to help students grow in their faith and engage in the mission of the church. About Wellspring Church: Wellspring Church exists to glorify God by making disciples of all nations through gospel centered worship, service and community. Wellspring currently has between 400-500 regular attenders in both of our identical worship services. We are loosely affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Our student ministry currently has between 30-40 active teenagers. Qualifications: A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him. Agreement with the Wellspring Church’s statement of faith, mission, and values. A love for students and their families. Strong teaching, leadership, and relational skills. Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers. Bachelor’s degree or seminary degree in ministry or related field, preferred. Previous student ministry experience is strongly desired. A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9). Key Responsibilities: Ministry Leadership & Vision Provide overall leadership and direction for middle school and high school ministry. Develop a clear vision and strategy for student discipleship, outreach, and spiritual growth. Create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment where students can belong and grow in their faith. Reach out to unchurched youth in the community, engage them with the gospel, and involve them in the work of the church. Teaching & Discipleship Regularly teach and communicate biblical truth in large group and small group settings. Develop and implement a discipleship pathway that helps students move from connection to maturity in Christ. Equip and encourage students to engage in personal spiritual disciplines, service, and evangelism. Review all curriculum used by Wellspring Church’s student ministry and ensure that they are consistent with Wellspring’s doctrinal commitments. Relationships & Pastoral Care Build intentional relationships with students and parents through presence at church, school, and community events. Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and guidance to students and families. Partner with parents as the primary disciplers of their children, equipping them with tools and support. Recruit, train, and shepherd adult and student leaders to serve in the student ministry. Personal Expectations: Live a life of integrity that reflects Christ both in and outside of the church. Demonstrate a servant-leader attitude with a teachable spirit. Commit to being an active member of the church and participating in its overall mission. Pursue personal spiritual growth and ongoing ministry development.
