Overview
Physician - Critical Care Anesthesiologist
Join our growing tertiary care center as we expand our cardiovascular intensive care program. This position involves approximately 60% clinical time in Critical Care Medicine and the remaining time in anesthesiology. At AdventHealth Medical Group, we employ an interprofessional care model covering 14 Cardiovascular ICU beds, treating patients across the spectrum of cardiovascular surgical disciplines, including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Mechanical Circulatory Support (ECMO, LVAD, Impella, IABP, etc.), and Vascular Surgery. Our Cardiovascular ICU is renowned for its high acuity and complex patient cohort, evidenced by our 3-star Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) rating.
The Anesthesia department operates primarily under a medically directed model, with a small percentage of solo cases. We provide coverage for 26 anesthetizing locations, including high-volume referral center cardiothoracic anesthesia, structural heart program, vascular surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, regional blocks, orthopedics, and low-risk OB.
Qualifications
MD or DO with completion of an approved Anesthesiology Residency Program. Experienced physicians and those directly from fellowship are welcome to apply.
Board certified/Board eligible in Critical Care Anesthesia.
Board certified/Board eligible or significant clinical experience in cardiothoracic anesthesia including structural heart interventions and mechanical support devices.
Board certified/Board eligible or Testamur status in Echocardiography by the American Board of Echocardiography in one of the following:
Advanced PTEeXAM (Advanced perioperative TEE)
CCEeXAM with TEE subcertification (Critical care echocardiography)
ASCeXAM (Certification for Adult Echocardiography)
