Registered Nurse – Med Surg Travel Position
Location: Wausau, WI Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Pay: $2,215/week
Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Wausau, WI on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing acute care patients in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for medical-surgical patients.
Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed.
Monitor patient conditions and promptly report significant changes to the healthcare team.
Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately and in compliance with facility standards.
Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to deliver patient-centered care.
Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
Current and valid RN license in Wisconsin (or compact eligibility).
Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg nursing experience in an acute care setting.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS preferred.
Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills.
Compassionate and adaptable approach to patient care.
COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
