We are seeking an

Athletic Trainer

at our

Duke North Carolina Orthopaedic Clinic

in

Durham, NC . The athletic trainer will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect patient care. Responsibilities vary depending on the clinic size and specialty, including clinical and administrative tasks such as assisting physicians, patient care, clerical duties, and organizational responsibilities. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Care Responsibilities:

Rooming patients, collecting histories, documenting HPI, charting, answering calls, completing forms, teaching HEP, and assisting with walking aids. Clerical Duties:

Preparing clinics, obtaining test results, updating charts, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, and coordinating referrals and appointments. Fulfills EOC Responsibilities:

Cleaning exam rooms, restocking supplies, maintaining a safe environment by checking for expired items, and proper disposal of sharps and biohazard waste. Organizational Duties:

Promoting patient rights, responding to emergency codes, and adhering to HR, Compliance, and Joint Commission policies. State Law Responsibilities:

Autoclaving, checking vital signs, suture removal, dressing changes, entering orders per physician protocols, and applying DME. Additional Skills:

Developing skills to remove casts, apply splints, and fit DME products. Some trainers may evaluate patients during post-op visits with physician support, with notes co-signed by a physician or APP. Other duties:

As assigned by management. Job Eligibility Requirements:

A four-year degree in athletic training and licensure in North Carolina from NCBATE. National BOC certification. Current CPR certification. Job Hours:
