Overview Work with geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and engineers to prepare maps, cross-sections, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and other materials for oil & gas prospects. Update project daily for drilling wells. Organize log and core data.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists and engineers to prepare maps, cross-sections, spreadsheets, presentations and other materials for oil & gas prospects.
Update project status daily for drilling wells and maintain organized log and core data.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a geological technician; experience using Petra preferred.
Bachelor’s degree a plus, preferably in math, geology, or computer science.
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical background with strong math and computer skills.
Proficiency in Kingdom, Petrel, Powerlog, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Access preferred, but training available.
Familiarity with drilling, wireline log data and core data.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work both independently and in a team; ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and handle large data volumes; ability to multi-task.
Previous experience with geologists, petrophysicists and/or geophysicists is desirable.
Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
