Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electronics Technician with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience. NMEA or ABYC certifications preferred.
Salary based on experience and certifications. Full-time position.
Position Responsibilities
Possess a demonstrated knowledge of the principles of electricity, marine electronics, vessel installation procedures and shop practices to perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations on various marine electronic equipment.
Lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds and be subject to prolonged standing and kneeling.
Work at heights up to 50 feet above the deck using proper safety equipment.
Good housekeeping habits, strict adherence to safety regulations, and frequent overtime are required; travel is required.
Install, operate and troubleshoot various marine navigation software.
Cut openings and drill holes for mounting of electronics equipment.
Provide own tools.
Accurately document all work performed, excellent verbal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Basic Knowledge
Radars, sonars, fish finders
GPS, autopilot, navigation, satellite compass
TVRO and VSAT
Network/IT Experience a plus
Preferred Skills and Education
5 years minimum related work experience
NMEA certifications
FCC GROL License with radar endorsement or ability to test for OR Equivalent.
