MEP Construction Project Manager – Data Centers – Chesterton, IN

The company is expanding its foothold into the Critical Facilities Market, focusing on brownfield data center projects that convert existing buildings into hyperscale, colo, or enterprise marketplaces. We are looking for an MEP / CSA / Precon – Data Center Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing a data center construction project, providing leadership to contractors and vendors, and ensuring that project scope, quality, budget, and schedule meet company design standards and objectives.
Responsibilities
Maintain liaison with contractors and vendors to manage day‑to‑day activities that impact delivery of critical facility construction projects.
Ensure that all daily project responsibilities are met by contractors and vendors.
Manage multiple aspects of the project simultaneously, assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating contracts with vendors, and create and manage project schedules.
Prepare project plans—cost estimating, budget, scheduling, change order management, and timing.
Assist with reporting and RFPs to contractors.
Deliver Built‑to‑Suit projects with a strong emphasis on value engineering.
Implement company standards uniformly across all project delivery activities.
Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests while maintaining client relationships.
Represent the company in project meetings.
Act as key liaison with managers of all company departments.
Maintain all required project logs.
Qualifications
Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or General Contractor.
Experience converting existing buildings into data centers (brownfield projects) is a huge plus.
Experience managing budgets in excess of $200M.
Minimum of 5‑10 years of relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
BA/BS/Associate Degree (preferred).
Client‑facing relationship management skills.
Familiarity with the design process of building systems for data center and mission‑critical projects.
Solid construction project management experience.
Effective communicator (email, phone, face‑to‑face).
Ability to work independently.
Travel weekly to project sites.
Solid administrative skills.
Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, Oracle Primavera P6, AutoCAD (plus).
Previous military experience (EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, etc.) is a huge plus.
