Job Summary The Clinical Laboratory Technologist will function as a rotating generalist, working in two or more sections of the laboratory (microbiology, hematology, chemistry/microscopy). Responsibilities include specimen receiving and processing, computer-related duties such as patient data entry, test request entry, online/manual entry of test results, data retrieval, printing worksheets, and managing panic and pending logs. The role also involves phoning panic values, documenting in the computer system, performing quality control, reagent preparation, and following laboratory safety procedures including universal precautions and chemical hazards. The technologist will perform specific duties within microbiology, hematology, and chemistry/microscopy sections.
Minimum Qualifications
NY State license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
At least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
Ability to distinguish colors for laboratory testing
Preferred Qualifications Not specified
Work Days 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm, including holidays and weekends on rotation
Salary Range Commensurate with qualifications
