LPN Responsibilities and Duties:

Administer care for patients in assisted living communities, nursing homes, and skilled nursing facilities

Administer and document medications

Provide resident care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards

Facilitate Care Plans as directed by residents' medical professionals

At times, manage the activities of individual caregivers

Promote the highest degree of quality care and services to residents, following community policies

Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of residents

Maintain resident confidentiality

Become familiar with emergency equipment and procedures

Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings

Maintain a safe working environment by preventing accidents and preserving equipment

Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co‑workers

Adhere to all policies and procedures of the community

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

Nursing Degree from an accredited college/university or an approved LPN/LVN program

Current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN in Colorado

CPR certification

Ability to pass a criminal background check as well as Colorado CAPS background check

Must be at least 18 years of age

Previous experience working with seniors is preferred and a desire to serve and care for seniors

Ability to make decisions and act in the resident's best interest

Ability to remain calm in difficult situations

Ability to handle multiple priorities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Minimum of six (6) months of experience working with seniors in assisted living, home health, independent living, hospital, or long-term care environments
