Packaging Machine Technician Department:
Operations Work Location:
Arlington, TN, 100% Onsite What you will be doing
Responsibilities include routine mechanical maintenance and repairs to ensure machinery operates to a high standard, and the work-cell area is kept clean. The role requires a friendly demeanor and strong leadership abilities.
Operate and monitor production machines daily to ensure efficiency
Ensure machines run smoothly, maintain a steady production pace, and meet quality standards
Establish procedures and safety guidelines in a team environment to achieve production goals
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes
Maintain tooling and machinery through regular inspections and maintenance
Align packaged containers properly on conveyor belts for automatic wrapping
Record products packaged and reconcile figures with production logs
Set up, test and adjust new packaging machinery equipment or processes
Skills needed to be successful Understanding of the metric system as the machinery is European
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high quality
Familiarity with corrugate machinery
Familiarity with current OSHA safety regulations
Understanding of packaging options and related materials (corrugated boxes, shrink wrap, pallets, bags, drums, tubes)
Protective measures – familiarity with protective inserts like foam and air bags
Knowledge of shipping codes, fragility indicators, expiration date labels on packages
Inventory procedures related to packaging supplies and finished goods
Manual dexterity and ability to handle a variety of packaging tasks
Visual acuity to spot defects in packaging materials or final products
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
3+ years of experience
Ability to repair and demonstrate troubleshooting methods in a timely manner
Mechanical repair and maintenance experience in a production environment
Experience with production/packaging machinery
Understanding of automated machinery and ability to work with HMIs
Ability to perform routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, and setup of machinery
Ability to read manuals, electrical diagrams, drawings and interpret various instructions
Ability to service and maintain packaging machinery to a high standard
PC literate
Prior machine operating experience
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
