UAB Medicine offers unmatched opportunities for growth . Job Responsibilities: Perform duties related to preparation, distribution, cataloging, and storage of lab specimens for testing. Adhere to departmental specimen identification policies and quality controls. Utilize lab and hospital information systems. Provide administrative support such as filing, record maintenance, responding to client calls, and mail delivery. Serve as a technical resource to staff. Orient new employees as needed. Qualifications: Associate's degree in Biological Science or health-related field and one (1) year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Depending on the unit or direct patient interaction, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or obtained within 30 days of employment.
