Overview
Speech Language Pathologist - PRN at Francis Marion Manor Health and Rehabilitation. The role is with Ahava Therapy Services, providing Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based care to maximize patients’ potential and quality of life. Responsibilities
Follow acceptable practice standards to evaluate and treat patients according to Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance guidelines. Conduct and document thorough assessments of residents to determine swallowing and communicative deficits and equipment needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment programs with achievable functional goals. Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines; maintain timely and accurate departmental records. Enter treatment and progress notes in each treatment session’s resident record; revise programs as needed based on resident performance. Document the course of treatment in discharge summaries using prescribed formats. Orient residents to program services and treatment procedures; inform residents of potential risks during processes. Collaborate with nursing staff, residents, and families to maximize functional abilities; instruct residents and caregivers about therapeutic procedures for post-discharge continuation. Assist in referrals for additional services post-discharge and maintain knowledge of community resources. Attend and participate in rehabilitation team conferences and other department/facility meetings as required. Access continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency; participate in in-service education and quality improvement processes. Adhere to Ahava Therapy Services’ regulatory and professional standards, facility policies, and safety programs. Understand reimbursement by various payers and allocate therapy resources efficiently by resident goals and discharge outcomes. Maintain knowledge of OBRA regulations, HIPAA, Local Coverage Determination, and third-party reimbursement guidelines. Provide compassionate care and work independently while recognizing when supervision is needed. Maintain the expected productivity level for the assigned facility. Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Current BLS/CPR certification. Benefits
