Role Overview As a member of the Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy Service you will have the responsibility for:
Academic activities including publications, and education of fellows, residents and advance practice providers.
Direct patient care for patients undergoing transplants or cellular therapy:
Supervising and managing TCT patients (in- and outpatient clinic) 8-10 weeks per year inpatient, 3-4 full-day clinics a month.
Organizing and managing special interest cross-disciplinary clinics/programs (e.g., non-malignant hematology, congenital bone marrow failure syndromes).
Development and implementation of clinical trials for patients with malignant, non-malignant hematology or other non-malignant indications for transplant.
Translation of preclinical data from TCT Research Laboratory to the clinic.
Incorporation of clinical trials into clinical care of patients undergoing either transplantation or cellular therapy.
Integrate correlative studies in these clinical trials.
Key Requirements
Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New York (or must be licensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure in New York and New Jersey).
They must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Osteopathy (DO) or equivalent.
Board-certified in Pediatrics; Board-certified or Board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
Eligible for appointment at an academic rank ranging from Assistant to Associate Professor.
Core Skills
Applicants must have strong clinical skills with at least 3 years’ experience in TCT.
A proven interest in translational or clinical research (i.e. publications, committees, PhD, grants).
Broad interest and experience in TCT (non-malignant/malignant).
