Speech Language Pathologist – PRN – Emerald Healthcare Emerald Healthcare invites a compassionate and dedicated Speech‑Language Pathologist to join our skilled nursing center located in Midwest City, OK.

The PRN SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in our diverse resident population, working closely with the interdisciplinary team to improve the quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.

Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.

Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions, adapting techniques to meet each resident’s goals.

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical notes, progress reports, and treatment documentation.

Collaborate with nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to provide holistic resident care, participating in care‑planning meetings.

Provide education and training to residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Stay current with best practices and advances in speech‑language pathology, ensuring compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Current licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist in Oklahoma.

Preferred certification of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) from ASHA.

Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting highly desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Compassionate, patient‑centered approach to care and commitment to improving the quality of life for residents.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and transfer patients with assistance.

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.

Adequate visual and auditory acuity to assess and interact with residents.
