ASSOCIATE TECHNICIAN – LUBRICANTS LAB TECHNICIAN
Description
Performs chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using standard ASTM testing methods. Conducts analyses on new samples, prepares solutions or solvents for tests, transfers samples, and maintains workbooks and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis following SOP and tip test procedures. Works in an industrial lab setting researching automotive products with shifts 6am‑3pm, 8pm‑3am, 11pm‑6am Monday‑Friday and occasional weekend work. PPE is provided.
Responsibilities
Prepare solutions and solvents for analytical tests.
Transfer samples between stations in the laboratory.
Maintain workbooks and laboratory equipment according to SOP.
Execute ASTM‑prescribed testing methods on fuels and lubricants.
Identify odors such as fuel or oil smell in samples.
Skills
Laboratory environment experience
Sample preparation
MS Office suite proficiency
Math calculations
Washing glassware
Qualifications
High school diploma required.
One year of college chemistry, mathematics, or related laboratory experience.
Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
Basic laboratory safety knowledge. Training will be provided.
Recent associate degree in science with lab experience is preferred; a BS degree is a disqualifier.

Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.50/hr.
